  • Fun Fact: F3 for Minecraft is a great way to know what layers you are on— the chart I mean cuz when you dig down/up, you’re going by x where y is going left/right. So you know if you ever get lost, just press F3 and look at the x/y values if you’re below – your close to bedrock which is like the border layer between the playable zones and death if you are in the positives you’re either near/far or close to the End. 🙂

lessig: I am really grateful for the advice given in response to my last post about how to prepare for the 185 mile walk we’re about to launch in New Hampshire (in January). I’ve set up a wiki to gather wisdom about the best practices/prep for that walk. I’ll be migrating the advice I received…

  • newyorker: A look at photographs from James Casebere’s “Landscape with Houses,” a series that was triggered by the mortgage crisis: http://nyr.kr/1gk3oQr “At first, the picture appears to be of a well-groomed, suburban neighborhood, complete a with pastel sunset. But, in fact, it’s of a tiny model town, painstakingly built by hand, using plaster, wood, cardboard…

DataJack knows the appeal of hacking, destroying, and taking missions of dubious morality, all for credits and upgrades.
