Strange Days is a 1995 American cyberpunk thriller film directed by Kathryn Bigelow.
The film was nominated for five Saturn Awards including Best Science Fiction Film, Best Writing for Cameron and Cocks and Best Actor for Fiennes, with Bassett winning Best Actress and Bigelow becoming the first woman to win the Saturn Award for Best Director.

I rewatched this movie just last week. I’d seen it dozens of times but my boyfriend never had. He said he didn’t think it was that great, to which I responded along the lines of, “Yeah, but you aren’t old enough to remember the mid-90s that well. This was impactful stuff back then.”This movie is everything. From Angela Bassett being a no-nonsense badass to Juliette Lewis’s beaded dress to Ralph Fiennes’s dichotomy of sleazy pusher/wide-eyed innocent in love. I could basically go on for hours, but this movie had a heavy hand in shaping my little teenage brain and it will always have a special place in my heart.Fun fact: there’s a massive rave scene in this movie, and it was shot in downtown LA. I went to it with a bunch of my friends, and while it wasn’t as fun as some of the smaller clubs we went to in those days, the sheer spectacle of it was pretty awesome.
