The Gaylord Texan until recently had drawn primarily corporate business. But the property recently added a water park and is aggressively marketing to the family-vacation crowd, which could affect other Dallas-area hotels that had targeted that group. Gaylord earlier this year signed a deal with DreamWorks Animation that will allow it to feature popular characters like Shrek and Kung Fu Panda at its properties.
