The entire budget for “The Tunnel” was raised online through a concept called the 135K Project where you have a chance to buy a frame of the film for a dollar. 135,000 frames of film equals 90 minutes. And 90 minutes equals one movie. Now that the film is in the can, the filmmakers encourage viewers to download and seed the movie from Bittorrent.com. They want you to embed the movie in your blogs and tweet about it. Or encourage others to buy a hard copy of the film. Whatever you can do to help the cause. And what exactly is that cause? Why would aspiring filmmakers give their film away for free? There’s much more at play here than trying to become the next viral sensation.
