slavin:

So, this uses the only thing I can think of that’s more onerous and unpopular than using a condom, which is shooting a QR code.

For the record, if you work in an ad agency and honestly believe that shooting QR codes are what most people do (outside of Japan), you should get another job. But if you are sleeping with someone, you should use a condom. It requires far less co-ordination than lining up a fiducial.

Also, to be fair, if the buzz around this makes condoms a little funnier and sexier, it doesn’t really matter how many people actually participate with their phones.

The Sex Profile (by ESTER)

” A Swedish ad agency came up with an innovative way to promote safe sex among young adults. Ester handed out 50,000 condoms that were embedded with a unique QR code. When the barcode is scanned, it installs an app on your smartphone that can measure factors of your love making session such as sound, duration and rhythm. Each time the app is initiated, it reminds the user to put on a condom first before beginning a new session.” – PSFK, via autodespair
