Playful Arts Festival 2014.
19-22 June 2014
’s-Hertogenbosch (NL)
Open Call for Playful Projects
The Playful Arts Festival will partly take place in the newly renovated Willem II Fabriek. There we will curate a collection of ‘Playful Arts’ and playful, interactive & performative experiences. We are still looking for a few more projects to feature in the exhibition.
‘Playful Arts’ Exhibition
Urban Play
With the theme Urban Play, Playful Arts Festival invites game designers, artists and others to submit games that can be played on the streets of the city or interactive artworks that stimulate social interaction between people on the street.
We are interested in all kinds of play, ranging from pop-up play, to playground games to spectacle games to moments of quiet reflection.
The games & artworks should be able to run during the day throughout the festival (Thu-Sun). A registration of the games & artworks can be included in the exhibition after the festival at the WII.
Play in the Dark
For our Play in the Dark event on Friday evening we are looking for games and playful experiences that give people the opportunity to play games in the dark of the evening either inside or outside.
We’re interested in games or experiences that are fun for both spectators as players as well as those that play with the theme of light & dark. Props could be flash lights, move controllers, glow sticks etc.
Now in its second year the Playful Arts Festival is a four-day festival with games, performances, installations, exhibitions, workshops and lectures focused on playful arts. The festival draws together international artists, designers, curators, performers and the general audience for four days to explore the cross-overs of art, play and social interaction.
In the third week of June, the historical city of ’s-Hertogenbosch in the Netherlands will become a playground for people of all ages. Playful Arts Festival invites game designers, artists and others to submit projects in three different categories: Urban Play, ‘Playful Arts’ Exhibition, Play in the Dark.
