Here’s a video of my demo at New York Tech Meetup this week. The one rule for the meetup- ‘you can’t talk about business model’- really took me out of my comfort zone.
I got good feedback after the event. ( A lot of people actually thanked me for bring the first black woman they’d ever seen present at an event like this- which made me happy & sad at the same time). But the best feedback came from reading people’s blog posts about the demos & hearing the way they paraphrased what Kollecto was all about. My favorite quote was this:
“Kollecto… reminds me of an amalgamation of Pinterest, Pandora Radio, and StumbleUpon for buying art.” – Max
I found that comment to be great indirect constructive feedback: a great reminder to stay focused on doing one clear thing with Kollecto. Right now I feel like Kollecto is a hybrid between StumbleUpon for art & Share Some Style for art and I think we need to hone in on one of those directions sooner rather than later.
