Follow-up from BKV: APPLE vs. SAGA #12

A follow-up to yesterday’s press release:

I wanted to apologize to everyone for this entire SAGA #12 kerfuffle. Yesterday, I was mistakenly led to believe that this issue was solely with Apple, but it’s now clear that it was only ever Comixology too conservatively interpreting Apple’s rules. I’m truly sorry. I never thought either company was being homophobic, only weirdly inconsistent about what kind of adult material was permissible. I’m grateful that the situation was cleared up so quickly, and I’m delighted I can go back to reading smutty comics on my Retina Display iPad.

Apologies, Folks-At-Apple. Seems I lashed out too soon.

Thanks, Folks-At-Comixology. We’re still cool.

Wow. I owe a Fard-sized apology to Apple for this too.

Like BKV (who AFAIK was the source of the story to begin with), it looks like a lot of us got this story way wrong.

If this is truly how everything went down, I’m genuinely sorry for unfairly directing so much rage at Apple. They do a lot of silly stuff, but it looks like the silly is all on us fans (and, apparently, Comixology) in this case.

What an altogether crappy and bizarre episode.

But, I sincerely regret the error.
