At last! Someone debunking that the color “Flesh” is more than taupe. Brazilian-born artist Angelica Dass is on a mission to record and catalog all possible human skin tones in the world by matching it with the PANTONE coloring system.

In her ongoing project called ‘Humanae’, Dass takes a series of portraits with the background color dyed to the ‘exact shade’ or skin tone of her subjects.

She chooses the background color by extracting a sample of 11×11 pixels from the face of the person portrayed. The background color and skin tone is finally matched with PANTONE’s alphanumerical color code and added to her ongoing series.
