Call for Submissions | DRHA2014 || Digital Research in the Humanities and Arts Conference
Digital Research in the Humanities and Arts [DRHA] is an annual conference whose goal is to bring together the creators, users, distributors, and custodians of digital research and resources in the arts, design and humanities to explore the capture, archiving and communication of complex and creative research processes. DRHA provides an intellectual and physical space for cross-disciplinary discussion and the generation of new ideas, resulting in many new networks and productive research relationships. We are now inviting abstracts for the following sessions: Papers
This session is for academic scholars and researchers that would like to submit reports on a variety of on going or completed research. Authors should submit a paper of approximately 3000 words if their abstracted is selected for the DRHA2014 Conference.
Roundtables
This session is about multidisciplinary discussions, ideas and philosophies. The committee will conceive and design sessions according to topic or perspective and the proposed time should be approximately 60 minutes.
Workshops
Workshop sessions will be best suited for the demonstrating and teaching of particular subjects and skills. The workshop format can take place over 3 or 6 hours. Workshop conveners should submit a formal description of the proposed workshop including time, space required, facilities and equipment and the maximum number of the participants.
Panels
DRHA2014 conference committee will accept full panels for 60 minutes or the committee will group delegates, whose presentations are based on a shared theme or topic (chair and up to 4 members). Panels may present complementary aspects of a specific body of work, or contrasting perspectives on a specified topic.
Performances & Installations
This session is about practice-based research in performance. Delegates can propose a theatrical performance or an installation. The performances and installations can be video, projection or mapping projection. . Performance and / or installation conveners should submit a formal description of the proposed project including time, space required, facilities and equipment.
Posters
You are invited to submit a poster, interactive, paper or digital screen that can communicate your research process or outcomes. A poster should have a short title, an introduction to your research question, an overview of your innovative methodology, perhaps in a graphical form or images, some discussion of aforementioned results and some brief acknowledgement of publications and relevant information. The viewers should be able to read and understand your poster in less than 5 minutes.
Online Collaborations
The University of Greenwich and the {Design Futures department} is looking to extend the reach of the DRHA2014 Conference by way of “online” collaborative environments, and has an interest in proposals that connect creative people; designers, artists, performers and authors. We are aiming to establish interdisciplinary, multicultural, and distant research relationships that can lead to future connections.
