This is the first post for the project Aracataca, and the first post for the games category. I’ve envisioned creating an artist’s game based on the short story by Gabriel Garc\u00eda Marqu\u00e9z called A Very Old Man With Enormous Wings (Un se\u00f1or muy viejo con unas alas enormes). I have been working on the drawings and the ideas since at least 2013. In 2015 I began to work in earnest in Unity3D to try and bring it to life. I’ll begin posting work in progress and a catalog of drawings, as well as a catalog of material I’ve used for reference. I’m not sure where the code repository will be. I have a code repository for some of my early learning at the University of Denver’s git.cs.du.edu archive. I’m torn between creating my own git archive on my own space with my internet service provider, and using gitHub, which is free but owned by someone else. Rafael Lozano-Hemmer is willing to trust and support gitHub for his art practice. I’m still skittish.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
