moment now.) \u00a0She brought me a bag full of things of mine, as mothers often do. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>These are a little wooden Ultra Car and Danny, probably put together when I was in late elementary school. \u00a0Many of you know my grandfather passed away a month or two ago. \u00a0When I would visit him when I was little, he had a bucket of scrap wood that I would build things from. \u00a0These are totally from his bucket of scrap wood. \u00a0I don\u2019t remember if these were created in the same sitting, but these were pieces of wood he kept around, which I glued together to create these simple figurines. \u00a0And then, of course, I went to town on them with markers. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Danny is wearing a jet pack and carrying a \u201cpellet bomb gun.\u201d \u00a0Apparently it was important enough to me that he be wearing a hoodie that I glued a piece of wood to the back of his head and colored it blue. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Ultra Car is based off his <a href=\"http:\/\/walkypedia.com\/index.php\/File:Ultracarearly.jpg\">earliest design<\/a>, back when he was a million zillion colors. \u00a0I know it\u2019s super early because he\u2019s not sentient yet. \u00a0He doesn\u2019t have eyeballs drawn into his headlights or a recognizable mouth. \u00a0I decided he was alive sometime around fifth grade or so, so that dates this thing as earlier than fifth grade, somewhere between then and third grade when I created him. \u00a0My favorite detail is the two wings drawn folded up underneath him. \u00a0Those would pop out for \u201cjet mode,\u201d but otherwise stored. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Making these things is probably one of best memories I still have of my
