The ideas include \u201cThe Players Own the Game\u201d (No. 12), \u201cWall Street: Same as it Ever Was\u201d (No. 6), \u201cNothing Stays Secret\u201d (No. 2), and the very biggest idea of the year, \u201cThe Rise of the Middle Class \u2014 Just Not Ours,\u201d which refers to growing economies in Brazil, Russia, India and China.<\/p>\n<p>Now exhale. It may strike you that none of these ideas seem particularly breathtaking. In fact, none of them are ideas. They are more on the order of observations. But one can\u2019t really fault The Atlantic for mistaking commonplaces for intellectual vision. Ideas just aren\u2019t what they used to be.
