In a study that spanned years, researchers pinpointed single scene that elicited more sadness in viewers than any other. It is the closing scene from the 1978 film \u201cThe Champ.\u201d In the scene, 9-year-old Ricky Schroder watches his father die of injuries suffered in a boxing match, and the heartbreakingly genuine scene is almost guaranteed to make you cry.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">If you don\u2019t believe it, <a title='\"The Champ\" final scene' target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=FAhrqKqK_cA\">watch it and see<\/a>. You\u2019ve been warned.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">The elicited the most consistent emotions in the study, beating out other scenes, such as one from \u201cSilence of the Lambs\u201d (to elicit fear) and one from \u201cWhen Harry Met Sally\u201d (to elicit amusement).<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Why is it that this sad clip was more consistent in eliciting emotions than others? Is it due to the clips selected?
