The<br \/>\nappointment will be at the level of Assistant Professor and will begin on<br \/>\nJuly 1, 2012.<\/p>\n<p>The position will include responsibility for the creation and teaching of<br \/>\nintroductory, upper-level undergraduate, and graduate courses that are<br \/>\ninterdisciplinary and intersect with the program areas represented in the<br \/>\nFaculty of Creative and Critical Studies. Areas of intersection with Digital<br \/>\nHumanities would be one or more of the following: Art History and Visual<br \/>\nCulture, Languages and Literature (French, German, Japanese, English,<br \/>\nSpanish), Interdisciplinary Performance, Visual Art, Creative Writing, and<br \/>\nCultural Studies. Our goal is to expand the programs and increase<br \/>\ninterdisciplinary research and teaching through the expertise of a Digital<br \/>\nHumanities scholar. Teacher-researchers whose focus is on intersectional<br \/>\ncreative and critical approaches to the arts and humanities through digital<br \/>\ntechnology are especially encouraged to apply. For a full list of our<br \/>\nprograms please consult the faculty web page: <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.ubc.ca\/okanagan\/creativeandcritical\/welcome.html\">http:\/\/www.ubc.ca\/okanagan\/creativeandcritical\/welcome.html<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Candidates must have a PhD or terminal degree in a program area housed in<br \/>\nCreative and Critical Studies and clear expertise in Digital Humanities. <br \/>\nThe successful candidate will have an active scholarly profile (which<br \/>\nincludes creative, practice-based research), and evidence of teaching<br \/>\nexperiencethat employs Interdisciplinary Digital Humanities approaches and<br \/>\nscholarship. The successful candidate will be expected to conduct and<br \/>\ndisseminate research in his\/her area of specialization and to engage with<br \/>\nthe interdisciplinary nature of the Faculty of Creative and Critical<br \/>\nStudies. Salary iscompetitive and commensurate with qualifications and<br \/>\nexperience. The collegial learning environment of the Faculty of Creative<br \/>\nand Critical Studies focuses on effective teaching, the integration of<br \/>\nresearch and teaching, and a commitment to developing a locally involved and<br \/>\nglobally aware community.
