\u00a0Clearly not &#8211; a hand drawn one will work. \u00a0Could it be three dimensional? \u00a0Photographed?<\/p>\n<p>This discovery excites me because I see one of the biggest reasons for not using this kind of Augmented Reality marker is the aesthetics. \u00a0I don\u2019t like their technical, QR code appearance. \u00a0But if there was a way to make the markers more\u2026 analogue\u2026 there might be something interesting there.<\/p>\n<p>I know there are also programs available online that can be used to train the software to create custom markers. \u00a0I might have a go with one of them and see just how far from a QR code the markers can get. \u00a0I know that <a href=\"http:\/\/www.aurasma.com\/\">Aurasma<\/a>\u00a0for example doesn\u2019t need these markers &#8211; working with image recognition and geo-tagging.<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019m still not really sure yet exactly what I want to do for this project &#8211; other than what I mentioned before about experimenting in the space between digital and analog, physical and ephemeral. \u00a0As I\u2019ve said before, I don\u2019t want to repeat old mistakes by getting too caught up trying to make the technology work; so I\u2019m very aware at this point that I can\u2019t get too carried away with it. \u00a0Having said that, after having spent the past few weeks focusing so much on my essay I\u2019m enjoying just playing with Processing for now &#8211; it\u2019s helping to get the creative juices flowing once more!<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/blockquote>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>fyprocessing: themajorproject: Interesting discovery.
