Rather than defining it again, I propose using a simple taxonomy of related activities that put it in context.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Novelty: Something new<\/li>\n<li>Creation: Something new and valuable<\/li>\n<li>Invention: Something new, having potential value through utility<\/li>\n<li>Innovation: Something new and uniquely useful<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\nThe taxonomy is illustrated with the following diagram.
