They exist because kids today are apparently too lazy to read, because back in my day instructional manuals were just fine, grumble grumble crank crank. But Skyward Sword\u2018s tutorial is specifically annoying, because it seems designed for people who have never played videogames before \u2014 indeed, for people who have never conceived that it\u2019s possible to coordinate one\u2019s hands with one\u2019s eyes.
