Please join DAM Contemporaries in celebrating the new installation of the Fuse Box featuring Mark Amerika’s film Immobilit\u00e9, a feature length film shot entirely with a mobile phone camera. Immobilit\u00e9 has been exhibited at the Chelsea Art Museum, the National Museum of Contemporary Art (Athens, Greece) and the VI Semin\u00e1rio Internacional de Cinema e Audiovisual (Salvador, Brazil). Remixes of the work have been exhibited in many venues including Tate Media, the Streaming Museum and the BBC Big Screens project throughout the United Kingdom.<\/p>\n

A pioneer of digitally based ‘net’ art in the 1990s, Mark Amerika has called his art-making philosophy “an open-source lifestyle” of copying and remediating content through a digital lens. Amerika’s works can be seen as a meditation on the electronic medium’s impact on language, the writing process, and how we experience our world.<\/p>\n
