It\u2019s much easier in a novel, but when you\u2019re in a sort of half-blind state of looking at pictures on a page, you\u2019re always being bounced back off the page. I really think that that\u2019s Charles Schulz\u2019 greatest achievement as a cartoonist: He really created the first sympathetic cartoon character in Charlie Brown \u2014 that was the first cartoon strip with a character that you really, really cared about deeply, so I\u2019ll thank him for that.
