Having been a long-time fan of this piece of toy for years, it took him a year of playing around with it to be able to solve the puzzle under a minute. Only because having dreamt about it, he came up with the idea to use the Rubik\u2019s cube as a medium for his art project to enter the <a href=\"http:\/\/artprize.org\/\">ArtPrize<\/a>\u00a0competition.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><em>The Rubik\u2019s cube has a very limited color palette and I wanted to use 5 of the 6 colors to translate the work of Martin Luther King Jr. into a dynamic, analogous visual. I started by composing the image in black and white and then separated the grey scale into 9 solids.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Those 9 greys were then swapped with the 5 cube colors and the gradients between them.
