In this way, information is transmitted from cell to cell \u2026 and thinking is possible.<\/p>\n<p>But thanks to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sciencemag.org\/content\/344\/6187\/1023\">a bunch of German scientists<\/a> &#8211; we now have a much more complete and accurate picture. They\u2019ve created the first scientifically accurate 3D model of a synaptic bouton (that bulby bit) complete with every protein and cytoskeletal element.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>This effort has been made possible only by a collaboration of specialists in electron microscopy, super-resolution light microscopy (STED), mass spectrometry, and quantitative biochemistry.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.fmp-berlin.info\/press-media\/press-releases\/press-releases-single-view1\/article\/first-3d-model-of-a-synapse.html\">says the press release<\/a>. The model reveals a whole world of neuroscience waiting to be explored.
