Once the bird lands safely on the edge of the computer screen, a fictional email is fired off to the user\u2019s grandmother. The pair built the quirky game to make a statement about the innumerable ways in which social interactions are influenced by cell phones, email and other contemporary technologies.<\/p>\n<p>The project was one of several presented during last week\u2019s final critique for\u00a0<em>Interactive Text<\/em>, a course offered by the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/risd.edu\/academics\/digital-media\/\">Digital + Media\u00a0<\/a>and\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/risd.edu\/academics\/graphic-design\/\">Graphic Design<\/a>\u00a0departments. Students experiment\u00a0with typeface, visuals and audio composition in the digital realm while studying\u00a0Fluxus poetic works,\u00a0Russian Constructivist posters and texts by leaders of the Dada movement in Europe.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"image\" src=\"https:\/\/66.media.tumblr.com\/05127e5c76e6242df0cb8e1f266b9a45\/tumblr_inline_ngqtpfOvm21rxkuhk.png\" \/><\/p>\n<p>\u201cClearly technology\u2019s influence on modern communication is on people\u2019s minds,\u201d noted Senior Critic\u00a0<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.risd.edu\/academics\/illustration\/faculty\/Rafael-Attias\/\">Rafael Attias\u00a091 GD<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>(<em>above right<\/em>),\u00a0who teaches the course. \u201cIt might be interesting if the game sent a real text message or email as a reward for moving on to the next level.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The group also reviewed an interactive website by\u00a0<strong>Sarah Recht MFA 15 GD<\/strong><em>\u00a0(above left).<\/em> Designed in Javascript, the project reveals huge chunks of text after users click a mouse.
