Unified sent Apple a letter demanding that it address problems with the Pearson curriculum.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOnly<br \/>\n two schools of 69 in the Instructional Technology Initiative \u2026 use<br \/>\nPearson regularly,\u201d according to an internal March report from project<br \/>\ndirector Bernadette Lucas. \u201cAny given class typically experiences one<br \/>\nproblem or more daily. Teachers report that the students enjoy the<br \/>\ninteractive content \u2014 when it\u2019s available. When it\u2019s not, teachers and<br \/>\nstudents try to roll with the interruptions to teaching and learning as<br \/>\nbest they can.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The remaining schools, she said, with more than 35,000 students, \u201chave given up on attempting regular use of the app.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Other<br \/>\n problems emerged as well, according to that report. District<br \/>\nspecialists said the materials are not readily adaptable for students<br \/>\nwho are not proficient in English. And there are no online tests to help<br \/>\n guide instruction; the only available assessments are on paper.
