His work is titled \u2018Real-time hermeneutics: meaning-making in ludonarrative digital games\u2019 and\u00a0is a study of how ludonarrative videogames, videogames\u00a0that combine game elements with narrative elements, express and convey\u00a0meaning. The thesis\u00a0\u201cuses philosophical tools to analyze meaning in games. The\u00a0philosophical hermeneutics of Hans-Georg Gadamer is used to compare the\u00a0meaning-making in games to the interpretation of works of art. The theory of\u00a0the interpretive process is based on the idea of the hermeneutic circle. Wittgenstein\u2019s\u00a0concept of language-games is used in examining how games should be\u00a0defined and how their relations to each other should be understood.
