That\u2019s alright. Relax your eyes, let them adjust, and enjoy the readability of it all.  <\/p>\n<p>Should be out to everyone by tomorrow afternoon.\u00a0Love ya, Tumblr.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>it\u2019s so incredibly bad<\/p>\n<p>it would be silly to threaten to delete my Tumblr in response to an interface tweak, but I do expect to be using Tumblr a lot less now. this takes one of the site\u2019s essential and unique features \u2013 reblogging with commentary in a way that highlights discussion, cross-currents, reaction and response \u2013 and recasts it as an Instagram comments thread. that\u2019s not very interesting to me, so I expect that as the new, undemanded form takes hold, the site, too, will hold less interest for me.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>it\u2019s kind of like if somebody hung an old shoe that smelled bad from your rearview and said hey, some people like the shoe, give it a try. driving with shoe! it tested well in focus groups. well: sometimes, you\u2019d still need to drive places, so you\u2019d smear some essential oil on your upper lip and get in the car. but otherwise you\u2019d probably walk more. you wouldn\u2019t throw away your car, that\u2019d be absurd. but getting into it would involve this old shoe smell experience that\u2019d just sort of naturally put you off it.<\/p>\n<p>oh, well! it was nice while it lasted!\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>johndarnielle: staff: We\u2019ve started rolling out a small, huge improvement to Tumblr.\u00a0 The small part is that we\u2019re rearranging reblog comments so that they\u2019re actually readable.
