The exhibition examines<br \/>\nthe capacity of drawing to represent something as dynamic, volatile, and vast<br \/>\nas the ocean. <\/p>\n<p>Marshak\u2019s drawings are influenced by the<br \/>\ncurrents, wind, waves, turbulence, light, sky, and reflections of \u00a0the marine landscape that surrounds his<br \/>\nstudio on Lopez Island. \u00a0Using custom<br \/>\nmade Plexiglas templates inspired by the iconic landscape lines in his view, he<br \/>\ntraces the highly polished \u00a0Plexi edge<br \/>\nwith a very sharp, fast pencil line.<br \/>\nSmall dots, in a palette related to the tones and light phenomena of the<br \/>\nparticular day, are added next.
