Using Nike+ FuelBand during activities that involve vibration
Your Nike+ FuelBand is a sensitive device with a three-axis accelerometer designed to pick up a variety of motion types. Activities that involve vibration, like operating power tools or pushing a lawnmower or riding a motorcycle, may generate more NikeFuel than you have actually earned through your activity. When performing these activities, use your best judgment about wearing your FuelBand. We’re working to refine the NikeFuel algorithm to better filter out this type of noise.
I noticed that sitting in a moving car gave me credit for being active. It is how I “earned” my first “goal”. I had to drive around town on errands. I can’t swim with it, but I can shower with it. If I wave “hello” I earn fuel points.
