Aurora cordially invites all emerging and established artists working with light, video, sound, digital, internet-based work and/or performance to submit proposals for Aurora in 2015: All Together Now. Proposals should explore innovative approaches to a free public art event that transforms the neighborhood of the Dallas Arts District (68 acres/19 city blocks of downtown Dallas, Texas). Buildings become projection screens and streets and parks into elaborate art installations. The proposed artworks should contribute to an immersive exhibition for visitors to experience art in unexpected places, while prompting an experience of awe through sensory disorientation.

For the first time, a new inclusion of four Guest Curators from Dallas, New York and Berlin will join the Aurora co-founders, Shane Pennington and Joshua King, in the curatorial process. Each of the appointed curators have been assigned a designated section of the Arts District and will choose work from a proportional representation of local and international artists from the Open Call and independent selection.

The six curators will organize five independent sections under the common → ‘All Together Now’ theme. Each curator brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in institution-level public art and international exhibitions, as well as working with a spectrum of emerging to established contemporary artists. In addition, the talented students from Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts will again curate and exhibit their own section within the scope of the expansive public art exhibition.

Deadline for Proposals: June 15 2015, midnight Central Standard Time
