another sofa to help me think about Casa Jasmina and the global influence of the Internet of Italian Things (IoIT). in this case a re-interpretation of Post-Modern interiors where the Memphis of Sotsass and Branzi is somehow composted alongside the mulch of Michael Graves’ north american pastiche collages, and nourishes the imagination in Spain. there is nothing mundane here. or, the speculation should be, “in what kind of world does mundane comfort look like this?” and again, decentering the human, what does this sofa want of us? what does it ask of us? how are we called to participate in its being?

Inspired by the Memphis movement of the
1980s (and more specifically Michael Graves’ graphic architecture,) the
‘Toadstool’ collection is as bright as it is bold. Small, yet perfectly
formed, it features rounded shapes and a range of colourful fabrics for
its two seater sofa, table and series of poufs.
