user experience of code drawing

I became aware that people were experiencing these code drawings, these drawing machines, in Hopscotch’s user community. it struck me that if they were as young as Hopscotch had imagined as their target audience that they wouldn’t be able to make any sense of what I was doing. I created a brief contextualizing message that appears upon loading the drawings, from code drawing 70 forward. it’s both an instruction set and a license to generate their own screen captures. the Hopscotch community has open source sharing as an intrinsic value, and so the code is available for exploration and remixing. I wanted to take this one step further and make explicit that the outputs of the algorithms were shareable too.
