Tejo (sport) – Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
takes a critical posture with respect to the origin stories (mythologies in the Barthian sense, I would say) of the sport. some of the language used to express skepticism at the claims made in the origin stories seems troll-ish and dismissive. makes more extensive use of wiki-media artwork to illustrate the field of play. the author(s) of the article miss the nation-building work being performed by the origin stories. imagine if lacrosse, or counting coup, were to be declared the national sport of the United States of America, as a measure toward including the lived experience and heritage of the indigenous (and mestizo) populations. (undisciplined speculations on my part, will have to check against evidence).
