I had a conversation with an ER-Psych MD about our current project (sudor.org), poppies, and the medical pedagogy of opiates for pain. He’s been thinking about it a lot, and I’m still processing what I heard. He hadn’t had the chance to think through the historical foreign policy threads already woven into the piece. I hope I’ll get a chance to continue the conversation over time, and to weave his insights, observations, and critiques into the narrative framework of the piece.
